1. Data We Collect
- •Account information: name, email address, username, password (stored only as a secure hash), role (student, teacher, school officer, sponsor, etc.), and optional profile details such as mobile number, address, bio and profile photo.
- •Educational content: classes, assignments, grades, attendance records, lesson plans, quiz results, reviewer activity and AI tutor conversations you create or participate in.
- •Payment data: credit purchases and subscription payments are processed by third-party payment gateways (e.g. Stripe, PayMongo, Xendit). EKIDEA stores only the transaction reference, amount and status — never your full card or bank details. Manual bank transfer receipts you upload are stored securely and reviewed only by administrators.
- •Usage data: reward points, wallet transactions, check-ins, referral activity, and technical logs used for security and troubleshooting.
2. How We Use Your Data
- •To provide and operate the EKIDEA platform: class management, learning content, assessments, wallets, rewards and notifications.
- •To process payments, subscriptions, scholarships and reward redemptions you initiate.
- •To improve the service through aggregated, non-identifying analytics.
- •To communicate essential account, class and security notifications.
3. Storage and Security
- •All data transmitted between your device and EKIDEA is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
- •Passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing. Uploaded files (receipts, documents, lesson media) are stored in access-controlled object storage.
- •Access to personal data is restricted by role-based permissions; school officers and teachers only see records for their own school or classes.
4. Sharing With Third Parties
- •We do not sell your personal data.
- •Payment information is shared only with the payment gateway you choose at checkout, solely to process that payment.
- •AI features (AI Tutor, lesson generation, text-to-speech) send the text you submit to our AI processing providers solely to generate a response.
- •Lawful disclosure: we may disclose data when required by law or to protect the safety and integrity of the platform.
5. Your Rights and Data Deletion
- •You may view and edit your profile data at any time from the Profile page.
- •You may deactivate your account (reversible — log in again to reactivate) or permanently delete your account and associated personal data from Profile → Danger Zone.
- •You can also request deletion without logging in via our public Account Deletion page.
- •Some records (e.g. completed financial transactions, school grade records) may be retained in anonymized or aggregate form where required by law or legitimate institutional record-keeping.
6. Children's Data
- •EKIDEA is used by schools for students. Student accounts are created and managed under the authority of their school or guardian, and student data is visible only to authorized teachers and school officers of their school.
